Sowjanya Kanna, MD

Dr. Kanna specializes in providing the latest treatment for people with digestive disorders, and she performs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. She joins the multidisciplinary physicians of the nationally recognized Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Center for Digestive Health, comprised of specialized divisions and programs to ensure comprehensive care for each patient’s condition.

Dr. Kanna earned her medical degree at Kurnool Medical College in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India, and completed her internal medicine and pediatrics residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She gained additional expertise during her gastroenterology fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark.

Dr. Kanna is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, New York Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Medical Association, and American Gastroenterological Association.

Dr. Kanna has medical privileges at Allegheny Valley Hospital, and she is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
