Khaled Nashar, MD

Khaled Nashar, MD, FACP, FASN, FNKF, is AHN’s chief of nephrology and hypertension. He has seen patients through AHN Nephrology Associates for 10 years at the Northside and Bloomfield offices. He is also the training program director for the AHN Nephrology Fellowship. Dr. Nashar's areas of interest include hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and transplant nephrology.

Dr. Nashar has several peer-reviewed publications and has given presentations at national nephrology, transplant, and hypertension meetings. He is very active in community services. As chair of the medical advisory committee of the National Kidney Foundation, he volunteers regularly at NKF community events.

Dr. Nashar sees patients at AHN Allegheny General Hospital, AHN West Penn Hospital, and Wexford Hospital.

He received a medical degree from the Aleppo University School of Medicine in Aleppo, Syria. He completed a residency and a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology and he is also certified by the American Society of Hypertension as a hypertension specialist.
