James T McCormick, DO

Dr. James McCormick is a surgeon specializing in colon and rectal surgery. He is System Chief, Colon and Rectal Surgery, Allegheny Health Network Chairperson, Colon and Rectal Cancer Program, Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute Commission on Cancer, State Chair, SW-PA Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery, Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University.

He has expertise in treating cancer of the colon, rectum, and anus, and other digestive conditions such as diverticulitis and Crohn’s disease. He can perform robotic-assisted surgery, laparoscopic, and transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM).

Dr. McCormick earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received additional training through a fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
