Rupa G. Juthani, MD

Rupa Gopalan Juthani, MD, is an award-winning neurosurgeon practicing with NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Queens in Forest Hills, NY, affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. Dr. Juthani has additional expertise in a wide range of oncologic conditions including brain metastases, gliomas, and pituitary adenoma. Dr. Juthani also specializes in the treatment of spine tumors, including minimally invasive approaches and spinal radiosurgery. Dr. Juthani has unique training in laser surgery, radiosurgery, and epilepsy surgery, and is part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team that provides integrated care for her patients. Dr. Juthani sees patients and performs surgery at NewYork Presbyterian Queens and New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Dr. Juthani received her Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and obtained her M.D. degree at the University of Virginia. She completed her residency in neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic and was named chief resident in her final year. Dr. Juthani received further training with a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where she also completed a two-year research fellowship focusing on developing nanoparticle based therapies for glioblastoma and brain metastases.

Dr. Juthani has presented her work at multiple national conferences and has published on a wide range of topics, including the use of laser insterstitial thermal therapy for brain tumors, treatment of pituitary adenomas, and management of intramedullary spine tumors.
