Laura Gerak, PhD

Dr. Gerak is a pediatric psychologist at Akron Children’s Hospital. She’s been practicing since 1994 and with Akron Children’s since 1999. She earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio and completed a pediatrics fellowship at Astor Home for Children in Rhinebeck, N.Y. Dr. Gerak has a special interest in pediatric psychology, hematology-oncology and palliative care. She is a member of the Society of Pediatric Psychology, American Psychosocial Oncology Society, American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and several other professional organizations. She is also a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
