Laurie Penix, MD

I grew up in Akron. I’m married and have two girls: Colleen, 16, and Sarah, 13, who both keep us very busy with all of their activities. From when I was young, my mom raised me with the idea that I would be a pediatrician. I earned my medical degree from the Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, OH, I completed my pediatrics residency at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA and a fellowship in Infectious Disease/Immunology from Seattle Children's Hospital Medical Center in Seattle, WA. I am certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and I am a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
