Attorneys Representing Students & Faculty at University Title IX Sexual Misconduct Proceedings in North Carolina

Over the past decade the role of university disciplinary proceedings has expanded dramatically. Many college tribunals that were once limited to deciding questions of academic misconduct such as plagiarism now have a mandate to investigate and adjudicate allegations of sexual misconduct, up to and including rape.
Allegations of such misconduct are extremely serious and deserve to be treated with the utmost care. As attorneys with significant experience litigating sex crimes cases, we are all too familiar with the trauma experienced by victims of sexual assault, and we believe whole-heartedly that perpetrators of sexual violence deserve significant punishment. As revolting as these incidents are, it is important to remember that we do not live in a world in which all complaints are meritorious. While many allegations of sexual misconduct are true down to the smallest detail, there are also many instances in which allegations of misconduct are exaggerated or totally falsified.
