Irwin Hametz, MD - Schweiger Dermatology Group

Board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Hametz sees patients ranging from newborns thru seniors.

Dr. Hametz opened his practice in 1978. After attending Yeshiva University and New York Medical College, he trained for two years at Long Island Jewish/Hillside Medical Center in pediatrics. From there he spent three years in the Dermatology training program at Brown University Affiliated hospitals, Providence RI.

Residents and students of the University of Medicine/Dentistry New Jersey have been taught by Dr. Hametz for over 25 years. He is a Clinical Associate Professor in the department of Dermatology and “Chief” of the dermatology section at CentraState Medical Center. Today, students visiting our practice can also learn from the experiences of Drs. Picascia and Miller.

Named among the “Best Doctors” for several years by the Castle/Connolly guide and New Jersey monthly magazine, Dr Hametz is in the office full-time. In addition, the scheduling of “overlap” periods with the other members of our practice allows us to frequently consult with each other for difficult dermatologic problems.
