Samer Blackmon, M.D. earned her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. She completed her residency at Emory University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Blackmon was a physician with Halifax Medical Center for six years. In addition to having her own practice, she has been very involved in medical education, teaching and training medical students and residents at The Medical College of Georgia and Halifax Medical Center. She holds a license from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. In her spare time, Dr. Blackmon enjoys spending time with her husband and son, gardening and traveling. She has also served as a project leader with the Go! Diabetes program, which is a program that identifies opportunities to improve the care and education of patients with diabetes.Dr. Blackmon believes in a team approach to healthcare and is an advocate for preventive health. She sees patients 18 years of age and above. Dr. Blackmon welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
