Every day, I strive to provide the best possible care for our patients. As a cardiac surgery PA, I rotate between many different roles. I might assist in the operating room one day, take care of patients in the intensive care unit or the step-down units the next day, and answer phone calls from patients after they are discharged later that week. This variety is not only enjoyable. It helps me get to know my patients better as I care for them at many stages through their road to recovery.

It's important to recognize that recovery doesn't end when patients are discharged from the hospital. When patients go home or to a rehab facility, they are often unable to fully care for themselves. Instead, they must rely on their family and/or support systems. I strive to make sure that family members and caretakers understand discharge instructions too. This gives them the information they need to help our patients during their post-surgery recovery period.

It is incredibly rewarding to help our patients through their entire cardiac surgery journey. I am grateful to work with a wonderful team that allows me to make a difference in our patients' lives.
