Town and Country Fires is a family run business based in Pickering on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. Once farmers, the Thurlow family took the big decision to diversify and as a consequence started the stove business in 1977.

Gaining a wealth of experience over the years and using a combination of old and new techniques has led to the company developing and manufacturing some of the best, energy efficient, solid fuel and wood burning stoves in the world.

The full range of solid fuel and wood burning stoves all carry certified efficiency ratings and comply with EN 13240:2001 + A2:2004 / EN 13229:2001 +A1 +A2 They are also HETAS approved. The Gas stoves comply to EN 613:2001 and are ‘Eco design 2018’ approved.

We have also begun to produce solid fuel and wood burning stoves that are ‘Eco Design’ ready. These stoves are designed and built to ‘Eco Design legislation’ for solid fuel appliances, which is due to take effect in 2022, and requires all new stoves to have Co/Co2 emissions of 0.12% or less. Our ‘Eco Design’ approved stoves beat this target by a considerable margin.
