I grew up in a small town in India. My father was a surgeon at an American mission hospital. I became fascinated with the heart at an early age. I think I saw my first open heart surgery as a child. As you grow up, going through medical school and residency, you get fascinated with the amount of technology and cardiac procedures and then as you start taking care of patients, you realize the impact it can make.
