Dr. Nelson E. Cordero

Born and raised in Moca, Puerto Rico, Dr. Cordero attended college at The University of Puerto Rico, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and Science. He continued his medical studies at Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamon, Puerto Rico where he received a Doctorate in Medicine. Dr. Cordero participated in research studies at Rutgers University in New Jersey and at Columbia University’s New York State Psychiatric Institute. He completed his Residency in Psychiatry at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Cordero- Torres has significant acute inpatient and office experience – specializing in treating adults with co-occurring disorders, and addiction medicine. He is Suboxone certified for opiate addiction and is passionate about helping patients live their life to the fullest. Dr. Cordero-Torres is also a clinical investigator at Research Centers of America.
