lenn Pendlay has been coaching America’s top lifters for more than 20 years. His lifters have succeeded at every level, from school-age nationals and junior Olympics all the way to senior nationals. They have also competed for team USA at every level, including the senior world championships and set American records in both the snatch and clean and jerk. Glenn started selling weightlifting equipment in 2004-2005. His first product was an affordable weightlifting bar.

At the time, athletes had only 2 levels of bar to choose from, a great bar that sold for close to $1000, and a cheap $150 dollar bar that wouldn’t last many lifters through even one workout. Glenn’s goal was to produce a weightlifting bar that was both affordable and durable. What followed became known as the Pendlay bar, a bushing bar which initially sold for around $400. There are still many of these bars around and being uses in garages and training halls across the country. Glenn still has several of the first bars made, including the one that was used by Donny Shankle for many years. That bar has endured literally hundreds of 400 pound clean and jerks as well as many 200 kg efforts by Donny. It is still straight as an arrow and spins like a top. What makes a great weightlifting bar is the same today as it was 20 years ago. Great steel, great design, and great machine work.
