Dr. Michelle Ann Petro, MD

Michelle Ann Petro, a Jackson, MS native, joined the GI Associates family in 2005 and is one of the gastroenterologists at Flowood GI Associates and Endoscopy Center and the Madison GI Associates and Endoscopy Center.



Dr. Petro attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and is a magna cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. She went on to pursue her medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Clinics and completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Clinics. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.



Dr. Petro is affiliated with eight hospitals in Mississippi, has various professional affiliations and is an active member of the Cancer League of Jackson and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral. She has been very active in research and has co-authored several papers.
