Lisa D. Ahrendt, MD

Dr. Ahrendt is a board certified medical oncologist originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, followed by a medical degree from the Drexel University Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Ahrendt completed an internship, residency and a combined hematology/oncology fellowship at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Ahrendt pursued a career in medicine because of her desire to help those in need and being able to make an impact on people’s ability to get through disease and difficult situations.

“The key to successful treatment of cancer is having a team-based approach. The relationship between the patient, family members, doctors, nurses and support services is so important.”  

Dr. Ahrendt’s clinical interests include breast cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Dr. Ahrendt is an investigator involved in clinical research trials in the areas of medical oncology and hematology. Her research includes oncology and hematology. 

She has been practicing oncology in Denver since 2004 and is currently accepting new patients. 

When she is not at work, Dr. Ahrendt enjoys skiing, camping, hiking and fishing with her husband and son.
