Joni E. Powers, DNP

"Dr. Powers has worked in the field of diabetes care from the beginning of her nursing career, spanning 30 years. She spent 14 of those years at Evergreen Health with the Maternal Fetal Medicine team working solely with diabetes in women, including pregnancy and post-partum patients. She believes strongly in personal autonomy, and feels that her role as a healthcare provider is to help each person develop the tools they need to be as healthy as possible. She has a special interest in insulin pump therapy. Although she was raised in the Midwest, Dr. Powers moved to the Seattle area in 1994 and considers this to be her home. In her spare time, she is involved in volunteer activities to help provide meals for under-served children. She also enjoys traveling, camping, hiking, quilting, dancing and reading murder mysteries."
