About First Eye Care

First Eye Care, Inc. is an association of optometrists formed in 1985. Our goal is to have successful practices filled with happy eye care patients. The original 18 doctors maintain independent optometry practices in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, Plano, Irving, Bedford, Killeen, Southlake, Prosper, Weatherford, Roanoke, Corsicana and North Richland Hills.

First Eye Care in Grand Prairie was founded in 1977 by Dr. Michael K. Hammond. Dr. Hammond was a U.S.Air Force veteran. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He held licenses in Illinois, Florida and Texas. He was well respected, loved, and is always missed by his patients, colleagues, friends and family.
