The TCJA (Tax Cuts and Jobs Act) changed the way people will do their taxes and how they report income. Some of the changes have been well-publicized such as the new standard deduction, limitation on casualty losses, limitation on state and local taxes, and the elimination of the misc deduction. Others are less well known like the “Kiddie Tax” and the 529 College Savings Plans.
