Luke Umana, MD, provides care with the Springfield Clinic’s Bariatric Surgery team and sees patients at Springfield Clinic Main Campus East.Dr. Umana earned his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He also completed a bariatric and advanced minimally invasive surgery fellowship at AdventHealth Tampa in Florida."Growing up I had interest in science and helping people. So it was a natural fit for me to go into medicine," says Dr. Umana. Dr. Umana is board certified in general surgery and will be focused on bariatric surgery to help patients achieve their weight loss goals through laparoscopic and robotic surgery."Patients will receive highly personalized and specialized care," says Dr. Umana. "One's weight loss journey is life long, and we are on that journey together."In his free time, Dr. Umana enjoys spending time with his children, exercising, bike riding, watching and playing soccer.
