Emily S. Prater, LCSW

Emily Prater, LCSW, is a mental health therapist on our Behavioral Health team. She sees patients ages 12 and older at our Springfield Clinic Hillsboro West location.“I am self-driven and eager to make a change in the lives of my patients,” Emily says. “It is important to me to meet the patient where they are and offer the type of supportive therapy that is best suited for them.”Emily earned her Master of Social Work degree from St. Louis University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill. She has more than 15 years of social work experience. Prior to joining Springfield Clinic, she served as a children’s service worker and mental health specialist in government settings in both Illinois and Missouri.“With my experience and determination to succeed, I believe I can help create positive change and be a light for those who are in need,” Emily says.In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son and three dogs as well as other family and friends. She also enjoys reading and taking walks.
