Steven J. Lewis, MD

Steven Lewis, MD, is with Springfield Clinic’s Family Medicine Department seeing patients at our Main Campus East location. He joined Springfield Clinic in 2007 and has over 30 years of health care experience as a physician and administrator. After a career in health administration, Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Scottsdale, Ariz. “I was very interested in all living things as a kid, and it took off from there into a career in medicine,” says Dr. Lewis. Growing up in Springfield, Dr. Lewis wanted to return to his family in this area to practice medicine. He enjoys caring for people he has known for years and seeing their children or grandchildren in his practice. “I enjoy the wide range of care I get provide to my patients from birth to end of life,” says Dr. Lewis. “I try to understand what’s going on with the patient and their life in general to be able to help them.” Dr. Lewis provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for the entire family from newborns to adults. He has a special focus in joint injections, skin conditions and biopsies, asthma and COPD, and sports medicine and musculoskeletal medicine.
