Pack Optical: Alisha Poonawala, O.D.

Alisha Poonawala, OD, is an accomplished and attentive optometrist who provides an array of services and treatments at Pack Optical in Fort Worth, Texas.
Dr. Leonard Pack retired and left his beloved practice, Pack Optical, in the trusted hands of friend and experienced fellow optometrist, Dr. Poonawala. Pack Optical has been a proud provider of vision care products and optometry services in the Fort Worth community since 1951. With the latest cutting-edge technology and a compassionate, individualized approach to optometric care, Dr. Poonawala continues the same high standard of service that Pack Optical has become renowned for.
Dr. Poonawala was raised in Southlake, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University in Baylor, Texas, before pursuing her doctor of optometry degree at the University of the Incarnate Word, Rosenberg School of Optometry, in San Antonio, Texas. She completed her clinical externships at Community Eye Care in Fort Worth, and the VA Viera Outpatient Clinic in Melbourne, Florida, where she had the privilege of treating retired military members.
Through these experiences, Dr. Poonawala underwent extensive training in the management of ocular diseases, including macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye disease, keratoconus, and a number of red eye conditions.
Dr. Poonawala now practices as a licensed therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist in the Fort Worth area. She has experience in the fitting and evaluation of various types of contact lenses, including specialty scleral lenses and orthokeratology lenses. She also specializes in helping manage refractive surgery and cataract surgery cases, such as LASIK and PRK.
Dr. Poonawala is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. She treats a wide spectrum of eye conditions and problems, including astigmatism, presbyopia, conjunctivitis, diabetic eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, computer vision syndrome, dry eye syndrome, and strabismus.
When she isn’t in the office, Dr. Poonawala enjoys traveling, watching movies, and cooking.
