Mauricio Valdes, MD, focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and pathology causing neck and back pain. Some examples include, but are not limited to, arthritis, disc herniation, degenerative disk disease, spinal deformities and scoliosis, tumors and infections. His treatments include steroid injections, minimally invasive and complex reconstructive spinal surgery. Dr. Valdes also offers vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty and surgical treatment for complex spinal fractures. His research seeks to improve the biology of spinal fusions, by developing bone producing stem cell-based techniques that stabilize areas of the spine that are causing pain.
