B.G. Shily, OD, is a board-certified optometrist at Visioncare Associates in Beverly Hills, California which was founded in 1964. Dr. Shily obtained both his bachelor of science in visual science and his doctor of optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. Shily also received a bachelor of arts from the University of California at Los Angeles and a master of arts in psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. His professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, American Optometric Foundation, American College of Optometric Physicians, and the National Eye Research Foundation. Dr. Shily has been serving on the board of the Los Angeles Optometric Society for two decades and is currently the president of the society. Dr. Shily has also been a staff member of Cedars Sinai Medical Center for over 30 years.
He is devoted to improving his profession and has been published twice for his scientific research in peer-reviewed journals. He also received the Irvin M. Borish award for a senior research project in the field of clinical optometric science.
