Rahil Baxamusa, DPM

Podiatrist Rahil Baxamusa, DPM, has 20 years of experience in the field of podiatry as a board certified podiatric physician and surgeon, educator, researcher and author.

Dr. Baxamusa attended Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa where he graduated with a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine in 2002. He continued his postgraduate education with residencies at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Affiliated Hospitals and St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital.

There are several hospitals that Dr. Baxamusa is affiliated with in the Centegra Health System | Northwestern Medicine network including Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital and Northwestern Medicine Woodstock Hospital.

Dr. Baxamusa has been serving as Chair of the Public Affairs Committee for Florida Podiatric Medical Association since 2018. He has also been the President of Miami Dade County Podiatric Medical Association since 2020 where he previously served as Vice President and Treasurer. Dr. Baxamusa is also a member of other professional organizations including the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Pediatrics.

As an educator, Dr. Baxamusa has held positions as Adjunct Clinical Instructor and Clinical Laboratory Instructor at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, FL.

Dr. Baxamusa has conducted research for the University of Miami School of Medicine, Diabetes Research Institute, and his evaluation of a patient self-administered monofilament test for diabetic foot problems has been professionally published in Diabetes.52 (supplement1): A194.

In 2020, Dr. Baxamusa was recognized as Podiatrist of the Year by the Florida Podiatric Medical Association (FPMA) for his outstanding leadership, dedication and service. He also won the Best of Hallandale Beach Award in 2020.
