We are aware that surgery can be a frightening experience for a child. It is the aim of our pediatric surgical practice to ensure that not only do our patients get the highest quality surgical care, but that the fears and emotional needs of both the child and their family members are adequately met. Furthermore, in a medical environment of ever increasing complexity, we work to ensure that every patient and the family has a thorough understanding of what needs to be done and why it should be done, so that they can participate adequately in the care.
