Bob S. Pilcher, MD, PhD

Bob S. Pilcher, MD, PhD, graduated from University of Georgia in Athens, GA, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He went on to earn his Doctor of Philosophy in Organic Chemistry at Georgia State University in Atlanta, and his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Pilcher completed his general surgery internship at Erlanger Medical Center (a division of University of Tennessee) in Chattanooga, TN, before completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Additionally, he finished a one-year fellowship in adult joint reconstruction at Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic in Atlanta.

Dr. Pilcher has served as team physician for the South Georgia Wildcats and Panthers, the Dougherty County School System, Worthy County High School, and Deerfield Windsor School. He has also been involved with Emory University and Georgia Tech student-athletes and the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Hawks professional teams.

A board certified orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Pilcher has published several medical research articles and he has presented in his subspecialty areas of acute treatment of pelvic fractures and adult reconstruction. His clinical interest includes primary (anterior approach) and revision total hip replacement, total joint replacement, pelvic trauma, sports medicine, and general orthopaedics.
