Matthew Wilkening, OD

After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego in 2004, Dr. Wilkening earned his Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkley in 2009. His training included externships at the V.A. Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, California, and Kaiser Permanente Point West in Sacramento California. Before joining Kelsey-Seybold, Dr. Wilkening worked at several private Optometry and Ophthalmology practices in California and Texas. He is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in Texas. When he’s not caring for his patients, Dr. Wilkening enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, traveling, playing tennis and golf, and reading. He's an avid sports fan who follows the NFL and NBA very closely.​​
