Zakia Nuruddin, MD

After earning her medical degree from the University of Dhaka in 1985, Zakia Nuruddin, M.D., completed her internship and residency at the Lutheran Medical Center in 1999. Dr. Nuruddin is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Texas Academy of Family Physicians and Harris County Medical Society. When not caring for patients, Dr. Nuruddin enjoys reading books, listening to music, traveling and gardening during spring and fall. Dr. Nuruddin's favorite meal is anything involving Mediterranean foods. She says the best advice she's ever received is “Do not be afraid, have faith.” The most interesting place she’s visited was Rio de Janiero. Her favorite book is “Tuesdays with Morrie.”Dr. Nuruddin's guilty pleasure is dark chocolate. Her least favorite subject in school was math. If she could spend the day with any celebrity, she'd like it to be with Bill Gates.
