John Hughes, MD, MACP, AGAF

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​John I. Hughes, MD, MACP, AGAF has been elected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in America® from 2003 to 2013. Since 2006, he has also been named to the annual Texas Monthly Super Doctors list.​ Dr. Hughes is Associate Medical Director of Clinical Academic Affairs and Affiliations at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic. Dr. Hughes is a graduate of the University of South Florida College of Medicine and is the recipient of their Distinguished Alumnus Award. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Los Angeles County Hospital System and a clinical gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Hughes served in the United States Army, including one tour of duty in Vietnam as a combat paratrooper. He was recently elected to the Mastership of the College of Physicians.
