Our Story
Pete and Joy Meister of Dwight, IL enjoy cozy spaces, inviting atmospheres, friendly people, and delicious food. Both Pete and Joy wanted to give something back to the community that they love so much, as well as create a destination where people can gather and socialize. Pete, a firefighter in Cullom, Illinois for 8 years, is passionate about helping others and recognizing those that do.
He wanted a restaurant to honor the 343 brave New York City firefighters and paramedics who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and to all the police, paramedics, and firefighters who continue to serve today. From this community and service driven vision, Station 343 was born.
