Philosophy of Care:   I believe we need to reconsider our cultural myths revering stoicism and lessen stigmas associated with psychiatric care as these myths and stigmas inevitably impede patients' paths toward optimal health and balance in their lives.  As an alternative I believe patients and providers can learn to honor their emotions and moments of vulnerability and thus better understand how our emotional wellbeing impacts our physical wellbeing.  Equipped with this knowledge, along with ongoing support and encouragement, we all can more effectively make changes to live healthier and fuller lives.
