Michelle L. Richard, PT, Physical Therapist

Michelle Richard is a physical therapist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in prosthetics and orthotics, falls/balance, geriatrics, neurologic rehabilitation, oncology rehab, and orthopedics. She treats patients with brain injuries, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), neurologic movement disorders, spinal cord injuries, stroke, and total joint replacement.She is on a "Global Redesign" committee and the charge of this committee is to update/revise documentation for Rehabilitation Therapies across the continuum of care at the UVM Medical Center. She is an active listener and cares deeply about people. She chose a career in physical therapy because she enjoys engaging with people and teaching people about their bodies, overall health, prevention, and recovery. She is most proud of having the opportunity to help people through tough times in their lives whether it is physical injury, after surgery, or any other medical diagnosis. She enjoys working with patients, families, and all caregivers.Michelle’s overall philosophy is to listen to patients and to give them the time that they need.
