Danielle Frey, PT, Physical Therapist

Danielle Frey is a physical therapist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in neurologic rehabilitation. Her focus is on treating patients with conditions such as stroke, neurologic movement disorders, Parkinson’s Disease, vertigo, brain injury, concussion, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), muscular dystrophy and ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). She also works with geriatrics and helping patients focus on balance and fall prevention. She is currently involved in a quality improvement project.

Danielle has engaged in many scholarly activities in her career and prefers working directly with patients. Being a physical therapist allows her to care for each patient as an individual with creativity and expertise. She finds it rewarding to see people get better and find new perspectives about movement. Danielle approaches all patients from a view point of well-being and strives to empower them to make long lasting changes in physical function that are meaningful to them. She believes it is important to individualize treatment plans and use evidence from research to guide treatment choices. Patients undergoing rehab often have multiple needs and she believes it is essential to attend to the person as a whole rather than the problem they are presenting with. Danielle works closely with the health care team to ensure coordination of care and to help patients and families identify support resources.
