The brain’s ability to recover after a stroke or injury is something that has always fascinated me. I am especially interested in comprehensive stroke rehabilitation for both inpatient and outpatient cases. Recovery can be overwhelming after discharge and I want to be there to ensure the continuum of care to keep improving function, maximizing independence and a patient’s successful return to their life. I’ve found that taking the time to educate patients and families about the conditions they are dealing with can have a positive impact on rehabilitation outcomes. It is such a privilege to share in a patient’s recovery.
