Joel Solano, MD

Dr. Solano is a board certified, fellowship-trained specialist in corneal transplants, cataracts, glaucoma, and laser vision correction. He also enjoys caring for people with macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and hypertensive eye disease. He has special interest in treating macular edema with intravitreal injections and laser treatments.

He has special expertise in the care of patients that have cataracts and other coexisting diseases such as cataracts plus corneal diseases, glaucoma, or retinal disease. His expertise includes caring for patients who have a history of RK, LASIK, or PRK, and are now are dealing with cataracts.

He trained at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and has received many awards for his dedication to education and research both at Mayo Clinic and Harvard. He actively contributes to the field of ophthalmology through writing journal articles and book chapters.
