At Movement 4 Life Physical Therapy, we take an innovative approach to treatment that is very different from what most people picture when they hear "physical therapy". Rather than just showing you a bunch of exercises and hoping this will somehow translate into less pain and better function, we believe in taking a logical, well-thought-out approach to treatment: working smarter, not harder. Our board-certified and fellowship-trained physical therapist uses advanced clinical reasoning skills to diagnose and treat the movement dysfunction contributing to your pain. A movement dysfunction is not the structure that causes your pain, but rather the movement habits that cause that structure to become painful...it's the "cause of the cause". By going that extra level deeper, we are often able to treat chronic pain conditions that have not improved in months or years of treatment. Treatment emphasizes education, 1-on-1 hands-on care, awareness of posture and movement patterns, and re-training in the functional goals that you identify as important. Exercise is still important, but it is only one piece of a complex puzzle.

Additionally, we take into account each patient as a whole person. Every patient has unique circumstances to their life that make them different from every other patient, even those with the exact same diagnosis or injury. Thus, we make sure to take into account each patient's individual needs, goals, and values when planning our treatment. This is something that you don't find in a lot of physical therapy clinics. Often times, medical providers in any profession can get so caught up in the specific disease a patient has or all of the documentation required by insurances that the patient gets lost in the shuffle.
