David Smith, MD - Closed

Dr. Smith specializes in medical oncology with an emphasis on lung cancer. He has been instrumental in developing the Compass Oncology research program and, on a national level, is the Co-Chair of The US Oncology Network Lung Research committee. Dr. Smith is a strong advocate for multidisciplinary care and individualized treatment often incorporating clinical trials. Quality of life is central to his practice philosophy. He is always truthful, laying out options, helping patients make decisions and cope with their illness.
Music is an important part of Dr. Smith’s life outside of work. He combines this passion with his commitment for community service and serves on the board of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He is very family focused and spends as much time as possible with family enjoying sailing, skiing and concerts.
