Gateway OB/GYN: Darshna Chandrasekhara, MD, FACOG

Dr. Darshna Chandrasekhara is a board-certified OB/GYN and Infertility Specialist in Irving, Texas. Since 2005, she has been dedicated to providing compassionate care to her patients in the Irving, Coppell, and Greater Dallas Metroplex. From pregnancy normal and high risk, to contraceptive options, to pelvic pain and abnormal uterine bleeding evaluation and treatment to
issues following menopause, Dr. Chandrasekhara offers a variety of services to support your gynecological health throughout your lifetime. The scope of her practice includes pap smears, STD evaluation, prenatal care, diagnosis and treatment of polycystic ovaries (PCOS) and infertility treatment. She also has a focus on robotic (DaVinci) surgical procedures including ovarian
cystectomies, endometriosis treatment and hysterectomies.
In 1994, Dr. Chandrasekhara earned her Bachelor of Science, double majoring in Chemistry and Biology at Houston Baptist University. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 1998. Next, Dr. Chandrasekhara completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Allegheny
University Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Then, she returned back home to Houston to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from 2000-2003 at the University of Texas in Houston.
Dr. Chandrasekhara is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society. She is also a member of the Texas Indian Physicians as well as the Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin. She has performed many presentations around the country, with several publications throughout her career. Dr. Chandrasekhara loves to travel, swim, and cook in her free time, as well as photographing her children.
