About Dr. Kosterman
At Dr. K’s 20/20 Vision Center, in Eagle River, Alaska, Daniel Kosterman, OD is committed to high-quality patient care and excellent vision. Dr. K strives to give every patient the time and care they deserve. In fact, he opened his practice because he was concerned about the tendency among others to value “productivity” over quality.
Through Dr. K’s 20/20 Vision Center, he provides a full range of optometry services, from contacts and eyeglasses to the treatment of glaucoma and macular degeneration. Dr. K also specializes in recognizing childhood functional vision problems that can arise from spending too much time spent watching TV or playing video games. As he puts it, “I can make a person happy by giving them clear vision through attractive eyeglasses or contact lenses, but if I can catch and correct a vision problem in a young child, I can potentially change a life.”
Born in Wisconsin, Dr. K graduated cum laude from St. John’s University in Minnesota. Later, he graduated with honors from optometry school in Oregon. Then, while serving in the Air Force, he was stationed in Alaska, where he’d always dreamed of living.
After leaving the Air Force, he stayed in Alaska, where he has happily provided eye care for the last 15 years. Dr. K enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, and hunting.
