Ms. Fairbanks is a fierce advocate for her clients, who are going through a challenging time in their lives. Ms. Fairbanks recognizes that not all family law matters are the same. She draws upon her extensive experience in trying and settling family law matters on the Central Coast, in developing a client-focused strategy for bringing a matter to a conclusion.

Ms. Fairbanks recognizes that settlement out of Court is an optimal way to resolve the sensitive issues presented by family law matters, so she works closely with local mediators and clients in achieving mediated resolutions. Ms. Fairbanks, however, will not shy away from litigation if circumstances require it. Indeed, Ms. Fairbanks strongly believes that an attorney’s fear of the courtroom will undermine a client’s results in both settlement and trial. She has tried family law cases in Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties.

Ms. Fairbanks constantly seeks to hone her family law advocacy skills. She is a graduate of the National Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute in Houston. She regularly attends continuing education programs specific to the area of family law. She is a member of the Outreach Committee for the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and the Family Law Executive Committee of the State Bar of California. She is a member of the Santa Barbara County, Ventura County, and Los Angeles County Bar Associations and Santa Barbara Women Lawyers.
