Kara R. Marcinek, NP

Raised in Colorado, Kara received an undergraduate degree in molecular, cellular and developmental biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She continued her education at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where she earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in nursing. Kara has worked in orthopedics, gynecology and family medicine. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and practices family medicine because she enjoys caring for the entire family, from the youngest to the oldest. She treats the whole person and strives to help patients take charge of their own medical care.“Between my father who is a veterinarian and my mother who is a social worker, I was bound to end up in a profession that advocates for the protection and the promotion of health and wellness in all living things. There are very few professions that allow you to have a direct impact on someone’s wellbeing. Medicine gives me that ability.”When not at work, Kara enjoys being with her family outdoors, doing yoga and helping the community. She feels that yoga and the outdoors feed her mind, body and soul and allows her to be more socially conscious in all aspects of her life.
