Before Dr. Zhang began providing expert medical care to patients in New York and New Jersey, he graduated from Fourth Military Medical University, in Xi'an, China. He went on to complete an orthopedic residency training and a Master of Science at First Military Medical University in Guangzhou, China. Next, Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in orthopedic research at General Hospital of PLA (301) in Beijing, China.
In the United States, Dr. Zhang completed his residency at the Interfaith Medical Center, Internal Medicine for Primary Care in Brooklyn, New York, and a fellowship in rheumatology at State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Dr. Zhang also gained valuable experience during his residency, postdoctoral training, and practice in orthopedic surgery and as a research fellow at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, NY.
From 2013-2014, Dr. Zhang was a professor in Orthopedic Surgery at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanfang University in Guangzhou, China. He returned to the U.S. where he practiced medicine as both a wound care and primary care physician in the New York City and New Jersey areas. He is certified by the United States Internal Medicine Board and is a licensed physician in New York and New Jersey, and his research is published in numerous medical journals.
