He attended California State University at Chico and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with honors in 1986. Jeffrey Dawson obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in law from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1989. He passed the State Bar Exam in his first attempt and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1990.
