Sabine Lake is a saltwater estuary that's on the border between Texas and Louisiana. The lake spans 90,000 acres (36,000 hectares). It's 14 miles (23 kilometers) long and about seven miles (11 kilometers) wide. An article by the Texas State Historical Association adds: "Through its five-mile-long tidal outlet, Sabine Pass, the lake drains some 50,000 square miles of Texas and Louisiana into the Gulf of Mexico."

Sabine Lake is a great fishing spot. There is a wide variety of fish caught in and around Sabine Lake which includes Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder. Ling and Tripletail can also be caught around the nearshore gas platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.
