The founders of the firm, Daniel W. Layton and Star Q. Lopez, have a unique combination of large law firm and federal government experience which allow them to provide the firm’s clients with a comprehensive approach to resolution of their tax cases.

Daniel W. Layton is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and holds an advanced degree in tax law. Prior to entering private practice, where he has worked in both boutique and large firm settings, he was a prosecutor in the Tax Division of the U.S Attorney’s Office, U.S. D.O.J., in downtown Los Angeles. He started his career as a trial attorney for the I.R.S. in San Jose, California.

Star Q. Lopez is a graduate of U.C.L.A. School of Law and earned her advanced tax law degree from N.Y.U. She began her career in a corporate law firm where she worked on transactional matters. She served nearly 6 years as a Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force, where she attained the rank of Captain and was awarded a Joint Service Commendation Medal in 2013. During this time, she also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, prosecuting cases in federal district court.
