Dr. Lina O'Brien is a board-certified, fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon with Colorectal Surgery Associates in Kansas City, Mo. Dr. O'Brien offers more than 10 years of experience and is affiliated with Research Medical Center. In addition to her colorectal surgery fellowship, Dr. O'Brien also completed a research fellowship in surgery and microbiology. She has authored numerous papers and abstracts in her field and is a clinical assistant professor of surgery. Dr. O'Brien was recognized during her training as an outstanding woman scholar and as an outstanding surgery student. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgery, and a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. O'Brien is also a diplomat of the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery, the American Board of Surgery and the National Board of Medical Examiners. In 2018 Dr. O?Brien was named a Master Surgeon in Colorectal Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation, she and her colleague, Dr. Ben Mizrahi, were the first two surgeons in the United States to achieve this designation.
