Romano Judith T, MD

Judy Romano, M.D., known nationwide for her skills and contributions to her profession, is the director of Wheeling Hospital’s Center for Pediatrics. In 2003, she was named Pediatrician of the Year by the West Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). A Fellow in the AAP, Dr. Romano has served on its National Committee on Early Childhood, Adoption and Dependent Care. She is a nationally recognized speaker on early education, child care, school readiness and early childhood advocacy. She is a member of the West Virginia and Ohio chapters of the AAP. As director of the Center for Pediatrics, she leads one of five sites selected for the Autism Diagnosis Education Pilot Project, developed by the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Romano graduated from the Alderson-Broaddus College of Nursing and received her master's degree in nursing from West Virginia University (WVU). She earned her medical degree from the WVU School of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow in the AAP. Dr. Romano is chair of the AAP’s Section on Early Education and Child are and president-elect of the Ohio Chapter of the AAP. In addition, she was named by Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland to the state’s Early Childhood Advisory Council.
