Comerci James, MD

James Comerci, M.D., is director of Wheeling Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency Program. Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, he received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from West Virginia University, where he also earned his medical degree. Dr. Comerci served his family medicine residency at Wheeling Hospital and has been practicing in Wheeling since 1983. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, the West Virginia State Medical Association, the Ohio County Medical Society, the Jacob Schwinn Study Club and the Christian Medical Dental Association. In addition, Dr. Comerci has volunteered his services as physician and medical director at Wheeling Health Right, and has received numerous local, regional and state awards for his community service. He serves as medical director for Amedisys Hospice, Wheeling, and is a board member of the West Virginia Health Improvement Institute. In 2012, the West Virginia Academy of Family Physicians named Dr. Comerci the Family Doctor of the Year.
